History
* Chris’s songwriting pluses with his raw, honest, straight-to-your-sense-of-ironic lyrics and driving vocals. His alternatively-tuned guitar work mushrooms with twists and turns and you'll have his songs rolling around in your head for days, as you unpack and unfold his layers of wordplay. From Grass Valley originally, Chris is able to weave his down home childhood experiences with his man on the Santa Barbara street perspective, always with an inside, pull no punches observation of the human psyche, love and other urges, and the general strange state of affairs we’re all in together; he just says out loud what we all know or fear.
* Lisa’s songwriting draws from both the still and deep waters of her experience as a parent as well as her evolution as a woman on a mission to make sense of whatever she comes in contact with. Her lyrics and rhythms seek to connect with our shared experiences across the spectrum of emotion and physicality. Whether playful, mournful, or some place in between, Lisa’s soaring crystal voice rings clear to the listener’s heart.
* Together, they enhance each other’s original compositions by providing backup vocals and instrumentation. Most recently, they have played at Northstar Coffee, Red’s, Elsie’s, Indochine, and Sugar Magnolia’s.
* In addition, as Crow Flies Music, they produce/host a free, weekly, originals only music event (NOT an open mic) at Good Cup coffee on the Mesa where Chris and Lisa open the set, then have a guest musician and/or spoken word artist perform.
