Sound description: With only a two-song demo to their name, these synth-lovin’ music makers are already making (new) waves in the hipster community. Think Moving Units with less sexual frustration and more emotional baggage. —The Indy

History

The Dance formed in 2006 after members migrated from Torrance/San Pedro and Stockholm, Sweden to Santa Barbara, CA. They have quickly made a name for themselves in Santa Barbara as a band that delivers energetic and out of control live shows that always get the audience moving.

Each member of the band plays multiple instruments during the live performances, rotating between songs to provide a much fuller and interesting sound than bands with fixed places. While some songs are guitar-heavy, others showcase synthesizers or harmonizing vocals, establishing The Dance as a band with a broad and amazingly entertaining live show.

Combining mixtures of rock 'n’ roll, electro, punk rock, and dance, they take what they love most about the bands that inspired them and put them together to create a new vibrant sound that showcases both excellent musicianship and a genuine pop-sensibility.
