Description: 800,000 thousand Rwandan genocide survivors to this day have no place to call home. This struck a chord with the students of City College. After a stirring guest presentation from a human rights activist who had recently spent time in both Rwanda and Darfur, the students of SBCC are motivated to act. The class has a specific goal in mind; In order to directly affect the lives of a group of orphans, the class hopes to raise at least $5,700 to build a self-sustaining house for a group of survivors.
The two classes involved have collaborated, organized and planned a series of fundraising efforts. Three Days of Change, as the event is being called, will take place on the SBCC Campus from November 27th-29th and culminating with a Community Marketplace on Saturday, Dec. 1.
