Description: Kids and animals get a chance to romp and play in 40 tons of snow at the Santa Barbara Zoo’s Snow Leopard Festival. Kids can zoom down the Zoo’s hilltop, renamed “Everest Hill,” on two age-appropriate routes, and there’s a snow play area for tots aged three and under. Sledding proceeds sledding go to the Snow Leopard Trust conservation programs.
It’s all a fun excuse to draw attention to elusive and highly endangered snow leopards. The Zoo’s two leopards, Beau and Napamar, will be given icy treats and mounds of snow to romp in, as will other Zoo residents.
