Description: In offering India the chance of peaceful nuclear cooperation while seeking to deny Iran the technology needed for it to pursue a civilian nuclear energy program, does the Bush administration risk undermining the international non-proliferation regime as some critics have argued? In his lecture, award-winning journalist Siddharth Varadarajan will analyze U.S. nuclear policies towards the two countries and argue how the danger to the world lies not so much in finding ways to accommodate the legitimate aspirations of India and Iran to nuclear energy but in the United States' own refusal to get serious about arms control.
