Description: Presenting Riches, Rivals, and Radicals: 100 Years of Museums in America. Narrated by award-winning national correspondent Susan Stamberg, this 60-minute film provides a fascinating overview of the history of museums in America by profiling some of the intriguing personalities who founded them. In the process you will learn how the vision and fervor of these charismatic characters fueled the 20th century revolution that changed America’s museums from dusty and elitist to dynamic and democratic!
The first Friday of each month, the Wildling Art Museum, a museum devoted to the art of America’s wilderness, screens notable films about nature or art and invites the public to come see them free of charge. The Museum also provides free popcorn and cookies, wine, water and soft drinks.
