Description: Join Wilderness Inquiry for a truly unique sailing and kayaking experience in the Channel Islands. Wilderness Inquiry is a nonprofit organization whose mission and passion is making high-quality outdoor experiences accessible for everyone, including people with physical and cognitive disabilities. On this trip, the group will travel on a sailboat or mothership while all of the kayaks and paddling gear are transported to Santa Cruz Island. Participants will explore Santa Cruz Island, which has earned the reputation of being its own Galapagos with over 145 native species such as the island monkey flower and the island scrub jay. Learn about this area's rich cultural history, which includes 9,000 years of Chumash Indian habitation. Experience grasslands, chaparral and pine forests while swimming and kayaking along scenic and breathtaking beaches. Come and discover one of world's best-kept secrets--right in our back yard.
