Ballet Santa Barbara, the area's newest professional contemporary ballet troupe, will present FOUR WORLD PREMIERE performances each choreographed by a different master of movement including Ballet Santa Barbara's own Carrie Diamond. Fabulous performers, live music, outstanding costumes. Opening night is Friday, September 28. A reception will follow the performance.
From the hauntingly beautiful violin and piano music of Jose Luis Greco (son of the famous flamenco dancer), to a truthful and humorous portrayal of five decades of a marriage, from a sensual contemporary ballet style never before seen from a local company, to a witty ballet of manners, each is presented with the benefit of live music from Dr. Eric Valinsky, and guest performers including a vocal performance by popular mezzo-soprano Stephanie Sivers. Costumes are created by professional designer Ann Bruice.
