A volunteer without peer in Santa Barbara's charity world, Larry has rubbed shoulders with the likes of Michael Douglas, the Dalai Lama and NBA champion coach Pat Riley. One estimate puts the amount he's raised for charity at more than $200 million.
The source of Larry's singular success: his ability to use humor to inspire people. To put it simply, Larry has a talent for turning good fun into fun good.
Larry grew up poor and virtually fatherless in the Great Depression, was awarded a Purple Heart in World War II, rose to early success with Arthur Murray's ballroom dance business in the 1950s and then found his true calling during four decades as a community leader and preeminent emcee in Santa Barbara.
Cocktails at 6pm, dinner and roast begins at 7pm.
