Description: Alcohol Drug and Mental Heath Services (ADMHS) is proposing an $8.4 million dollar budget cut on the '08-'09 fiscal budget. This proposal will force Community Base Organizations (CBO's) that provide emergency shelter, residential treatment and permanent affordable housing with supported services to close. Many of these organization have been providing services for more than 30 years and have developed progressive treatment models that work for the population they serve. These organizations also save the county thousands of dollars per year. If the budget cuts take place, for starters, 800 people will be forced to live in the streets by this summer.
Tell your friends, colleagues, elected officials at the federal, state, county and city levels that we need to preserve the supportive services we currently have in place for the most vulnerable in our community. SPEAK OUT at this community rally with speakers, refreshments, and live music.
