Gendered "Returns": Korean-American Experiences of Korea
Helene Lee, graduate student in Sociology, will discuss her research about the gendered experiences of Korean Americans in Seoul, South Korea.

Description: An examination of their stories illustrates the gendered nature of ethnic identity construction. In this talk, Lee will decenter the traditional dialogue about transnational feminism focused on white vs. non-white or First World vs. Third World, instead addressing US “people of color” encountering their “sisters and brothers” in the “Third World”.
This event is free and open to the public, however, there is a charge for parking and there are parking permit dispensers in all of the parking lots.
