Description: Hip Brazil ™ is proud to bring to the Santa Barbara Community a soulful Samba and Brazilian Music and Dance Workshop with renowned musician Chalo Eduardo and Vanessa Isaac. In the workshops people will learn how to play and dance authentic Samba, Brazilian style! Samba is a Brazilian dance and music style that is joyful, lively and sensual! Vanessa says: “You may have seen some of the great moves on the ABC hit TV show Dance with the Stars. In the Hip Brazil Workshop you don’t need to dance with the stars because YOU’RE the star! This is done in the authentic way, no partners needed! Samba dance is also a great full-body workout! " This is done in the original Brazilian way, no partners needed!

• Dance: 11am to 12:45 ( With Vanessa and Chalo)
• Music and Percussion Class: 1 to 3pm (with Chalo)

Chalo Eduardo is recognized as a preeminent authority on Brazilian rhythms and percussion instruments. He has been an instructor for over 20 years traveling the world sharing his knowledge of rhythms and ensemble drumming. Chalo's ten-year association with Sergio Mendes as a featured performer gained him international acclaim for his showmanship, fiery solos, and center stage tambourine juggling and dancing performances. Chalo has performed with Carlos Santana, Mickey Hart, Bob Weir and Rat Dog, Bruce Hornsby, Los Lobos, Ricky Martin among others. A true musician and entertainer, Chalo has brought the best of both worlds to educational programs from K through University levels. Chalo connects with children, teens and adults. "Studying music can be so serious, you got to have fun too!" says Chalo.

With a rapid growing following worldwide, Brazilian dancer and singer Vanessa Isaac is a pioneer, blending Brazilian Rhythms, yoga and contemporary dance. Her work has been featured on CNN Headline News, Fox and Friends and appeared in Shape Magazine, Fitness, Women’s Health and Fitness, Weight Watchers, Dance Spirit Magazine, Seattle Times, Arkansas Democratic, Sweat Magazine and many other publications. Fitness Magazine selected her bestseller Brazilian Dance DVD as one of the top 10 DVDs of the Year. She has also been nominated for the prestigious Brazilian International Press Award. Vanessa is co-founder of Ginga Multicultural Arts Center and Hip Brazil by Vanessa Isaac, a company dedicated in sharing the joy and energy of Brazilian culture with world! She also teaches an ongoing Brazilian dance class every Sunday at 11 am at Ginga Multicultural Arts Center.
