Description: The Santa Barbara Permaculture Network has partnered with Alpha Resource Center of Santa Barbara to create a Garden Paradise for Alpha Clients and provide community programs as well. Alpha boasts a large property with a garden that has amazing possibility. Common Vision will plant 20 fruit trees, accompanied by volunteers from Alpha Clients and staff.

Common Vision, a devoted group of earth educators who teach sustainable ecology through daylong programs that include theatre, drumming, dancing, and storytelling, is running its fifth annual Fruit Tree Tour—a 20-city, 70-day tour planting over 1000 fruit trees at urban schools and community centers from Los Angeles to Sacramento. Traveling in a veggie oil-powered caravan, they demonstrate the process of grafting fruit trees- the art of combining two trees to give both strong roots and delicious fruits. Alpha Resource Center of Santa Barbara, was chosen to be part of this exciting event with the help of the local Santa Barbara Permaculture Network. The Permaculture Network is part of a grassroots movement of gardeners and farmers committed to providing a design system for sustainable living and land use.
