Description: SBCC Theatre Group presents, Born yesterday, directed by Katie Laris. Part romantic comedy, part political satire, Born Yesterday simultaneously condemns corruption in American politics and confirms the value of a good old-fashioned education. Revolving around the unforgettable characters of Billie Dawn, an illiterate former chorus girl, and her boyfriend Harry Brock, a scrap-metal magnate who is determined to buy himself influence in Washington D.C., the play conveys a 1940’s era look at luxury, power and overwhelming greed. As long as money still talks, corruption still exists in Washington, and women still defy stereotypes, Born Yesterday will ring true.
