Description: Kenya Davis-Hayes will contrast traditional images of black women’s hair in mainstream pop culture and the reality of the art and politics of black women’s hairstyling throughout the 20th century. Davis-Hayes, a graduate of Campbell University, earned her doctorate degree from Purdue University. The lecture is co-sponsored by the Black Student Union and Westmont Intercultural Programs.
