Description: Doshi has created costume designs for theatre, dance and ice skating shows for over 20 years as well as teaching on the college level. She discovered the surprise and excitement of Shibori while studying the work of Itchiku Kubota, and has continued to explore its expressive combination of control and spontaneity. The technique uses knotting, pleating, rolling, pressing or sewing during the dyeing process. The resulting designs carry the memories of the method used to resist the dye. Doshi will share her excitement over the exploration of this unique, creative universe.
