Communicating Compassionately: NonViolent Communication Conference

Two-day conference

When: Saturday, May 3, 2008, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Where: Wake Ctr., 300 N. Turnpike Rd., Santa Barbara

Cost: Free

Age limit: 18+

Categories: Workshops

Description: The NonViolent Communication (NVC) work of Dr. Marshall Rosenberg is well known around the world, and particularly here in Santa Barbara where he and other trainers and instructors have frequently offered Adult Ed introductory classes. Now we are pleased to present an NVC Conference at the Wake Center for two days of introductory, intermediate and in-depth sessions.

The weekend begins with keynote addresses by Jori and Jim Manske, from Albuquerque, and John Kinyon, from the Bay area, on developments in using NVC personal life and relationships to business, education, justice and government. Well known for their exciting workshops on several continents and service with the non-profit Center for NVC (CNVC), they will join local Certified NVC Trainers Rodger Sorrow, Liz Otterbein, and others for breakout sessions. Times and topics for these sessions will be developed dynamically during the conference to ensure that participants will have an opportunity to explore the topics of greatest interest.

If you have ever attended an NVC event or class, this is a rare opportunity to dramatically expand and deepen your knowledge and skills. If you are not familiar with NVC but would like to express yourself more fully and easily, be sure to attend this event and discover the power of communicating compassionately.

Saturday, May 3rd from 10:00 - 5:00.
Sunday, May 4th from 10:30 - 4:00.

RN/LVN, CNA, MFT/LCSW contact hours: 10 (you must attend both days if receiving CEU credit).

Moderator: John Wiley, M.A.

Phone: 805-964-6853
