Description: Authentic food, live music, traditional dance and distinguished guest speakers are expected as part of Israel’s Independence Day.
Fully volunteer-run, the event will feature live music performances in English and Hebrew from the Skye Michaels Orchestra, Dynamic Temple Band, Flor de Kanela ensemble and Adama Israeli Dancing Group. In addition, the celebration will include Israeli Kosher food, folk dancing instruction, children’s activities and a special exhibition called, “Israel Beyond the News.”
A number of local and state dignitaries will speak during the official ceremony, including a representative from the Consulate General of Israel, Congresswoman Lois Capps, Supervisors Salud Carbajal and Janet Wolf, and Santa Barbara Mayor Marty Blum.
