Description: The Santa Barbara Botanic Garden, in conjunction with the Bonsai Club of Santa Barbara, is pleased to present a weekend of bonsai and Japanese cultural activities showcasing an internationally popular horticultural art form. Bonsai, originating in China, and later brought to Japan by Zen Buddhists, is the creative shaping of plantmaterial through specialized techniques to produce miniature trees and landscapes. The weekend features a stunning exhibition of bonsai. A one-hour bonsaidemonstration will be held each day, and informal demonstrations 3-4 times daily.
