Description: The Junior League of Santa Barbara is hosting a marrow registry and blood drive to help fight this dramatic shortfall. The public is invited to enjoy activities while giving back to their community.
For a successful transplant, a marrow donor’s tissue type need to match the patient’s as closely as possible. Racial and ethnic heritage play a vital role in tissue matches.
Signing up on the marrow registry is simple: Complete a consent form and swab the inside of your mouth – that’s it!
