Former principal violist for the Santa Barbara Symphony and Chamber Orchestra, Kirsten Monke returns to town with the DaPonte String Quartet which she joined last year. Based in Maine, and founded in 1991, this outstanding classical string Quartet has achieved a balance of technique and passion that makes their performances magic. The Quartet has an extensive standard repertoire and now commissions and performs new works by such noted composers as David Tredici. The Quartet held its debut in Carnegie Hall in 2005. This is their first performance in Santa Barbara and all of Kirsten's many fans will want to attend! The program will include works by Mozart, Ades and Debussy.
