Description: Santa Barbara/San Luis Obispo — The Live Oak Music Festival promises to be the soundtrack to another Father’s Day Weekend this June 19, 20 & 21st. Join other music-lovers for the biggest fundraising event of the year that benefits Public Radio KCBX on the Central Coast. Tickets are available now at www.liveoakfest.org.

Over the course of 20 years and eight albums, The Subdudes have quietly become one of America's national music treasures. The New Orleans-formed group is a living encapsulation of American music, with vibrant sounds that stirs together bluesy grooves, jazzy dynamics, soulful R&B, easy vocal harmonies, cheeky rock 'n' roll attitude and folksy social consciousness -- not to mention some of the sharpest musicianship and ensemble playing you will ever hear from any five musicians.

Tommy Malone (vocals, guitar), who co-founded The Subdudes in 1987 with former Continental Drifter John Magnie (vocals, keyboards), Steve Amedee (vocals, percussion), Tim Cook (vocals, bass, percussion) and Jimmy Messa (bass, guitar) arrived in subsequent years. This band will bring the house to their feet dancing Saturday night at the Live Oak Music Festival! This band is not to be missed!

The 2009 Live Oak Music Festival features a unique mix of musical flavors and styles. This year you will hear hard-driving guitar picking, fiddle bowing, bass-runs and singing in one form or another from most of the bands that grace the main stage. You will also hear the African Kora, a traditional Scottish band singing fantastic harmonies, music from Zimbabwe and Latin America, the blues, down-home bluegrass, R&B, Cajun and New Orleans funk. Join us, June 19, 20 & 21st at Live Oak Camp, nestled in pristine wilderness only minutes from Santa Barbara near Lake Cachuma. Don’t miss it!
