Description: The Junior League of Santa Barbara is hosting a focus group session to discuss the architectural and programming elements of the new section of the Santa Barbara Children’s Library. The public is invited to share their vision of how a new Children’s section will best meet the needs of our community.
The Junior League of Santa Barbara invites current and future users of the Santa Barbara Public Library’s Children Room and Children’s Programs, including Parents and Caregivers of children of all ages. Additionally, we encourage teachers, librarians and community literacy professionals to be a part of this important event.
The Junior League of Santa Barbara has partnered with the Santa Barbara Public Library to design and create a new Children's Library. JLSB is hosting a focus group for the community to determine aspects of the library that are most important to them. The focus group discussion will be led by Linda Dimmers, a library consultant with extensive experience in library facility planning. Discussion will include ideas on how to optimize the current space by evaluating children’s theater, tech zone, reading and family space options. Additionally, consideration of programming options including arts & craft projects, book clubs, movie nights, and story time will be covered.
First 50 attendees will receive a gift certificate from Chaucer's Bookstore.
Light refreshments will be provided; meeting will be held on the lower level of the Library.
