Part of the Santa Barbara Reads/UCSB Reads community reading program based on Enrique's Journey by Sonia Nazario. This film is the story of two youths who flee Guatemala in the early 1980s due to ethnic and political persecution. They head north and travel through Mexico to the United States, arriving in Los Angeles, California, after an arduous journey. This is the first film to approach the subject of "undocumented workers" solely through their eyes.
