Where: Mahakankala Buddhist Ctr., 508 Brinkerhoff Ave, Santa Barbara
Cost: Free
Age limit: 5+
Categories: Lectures & Workshops: Book Signings
Description:
Mala is the Sanskrit word for what we in the west would call a rosary, a string of beads used to count prayers or mantra recitations. Make a beautiful mala in this workshop then donate it to the Center (to sell in the shop) or, for an extra fee, take it home for your own use or to give to someone special. Learn how to properly string mala beads, tie knots, make a tassel; Cati will answer all our questions about malas, their use and symbolism. Everyone welcome.
A potluck lunch will follow the workshop.
