We are a group of SBCC/UCSB students that are working with the Foundation Fighting Blindness to raise money to fund new breakthrough treatments to bring us closer to a cure for diseases such as retinitis pigmentosa and macular degeneration. Currently, a type of gene therapy has been found that has cured a particular strain of retinitis pigmentosa in Dogs and a few babies. We are raising money to further human gene therapy trials. A cure is in sight, and we are hosting this 5k charity walk at SBCC's track. There will be food, drinks, games and live entertainment.
