Vaquero football offers attendees an exciting environment filled with team spirit, friendly competition, a live DJ, and delicious food available from a full BBQ restaurant. Santa Barbara City College Athletics encourages the Santa Barbara Community to show their support for student athletes by enjoying a night out at La Playa Stadium.
This Vaquero football home game will serve as special veterans’ appreciation event for Veterans Day. Admission for veterans is free at this game, and SBCC’s Veterans’ Support Program will be honored as the evening’s Honorary Vaquero Captain.
During each home game, Santa Barbara City College will honor an individual or group from the Santa Barbara Area as the ‘Horary Vaquero Captain (HVC)’ for their demonstration of strength, courage, and spirit. At the November 9th game SBCC Veterans’ Support Program will be on hand to provide information on the organization. The honorary captain will represent SBCC in the pre-game coin toss and be introduced to the crowd at halftime.
