Description:
Andy Warhol turned the world of fine art on its head. He blurred the distinction between 'high' and 'low' culture in his films as well as his art. The Pollock Theater’s Andy Warhol series includes four evenings of Warhol’s avant garde films that highlight the phases of his filmmaking career.
Kiss (1963-64; 54”) featuring Baby Jane Holzer, Pierre Restany, Gerard Malanga, John Palmer, Andrew Meyer, Mark Lancaster, Marisol, Harold Stevenson, and Ed Sanders. Kiss is an experimental film directed by Andy Warhol, which runs 50 minutes and features various couples -- man and woman, woman and woman, man and man -- kissing for 3½ minutes each.
Blow Job (1964; 41”) with DeVerne Bookwalter. Andy Warhol directs a single 35-minute shot of a man's face to capture his facial expressions as he receives the sexual act depicted in the title.
