The short film, “The Girls in the Band” is an adaptation from a short story by Sam Salario, about these women musicians, all in their 50’s, who decide to start a rock and roll band. The story unfolds as they reveal the circumstances of why they want to play in a band.
Originally, the short film was to be performed by actors with the music subsequently synchronized by real musicians, Annie Dahlgren, Over 40 Production Co., and Producer, suggested to have real musicians to play the roles instead of actors. “The Girls in the Band” was then formed using the combined talents of these dedicated women musicians: Rebecca Troon, Susan Marie Reeese, Linda Newlin, Nancy Erickson and Lisa Macker.
