A decade ago, Black Joe Lewis picked up a guitar he found in the Texas pawn shop where he worked and taught himself to play. In the years since, his “incendiary” (Los Angeles Times) music with Austin-based backing band the Honeybears has taken the world by storm. The combo will deliver an electrifying evening of “garage soul” – their own amalgam of primal blues, soul, R&B and funk – with hip-shaking, soul-quaking hits from their high-octane albums, Scandalous and Tell ‘Em What Your Name Is.
