Naked Shakes is now in its seventh season at UCSB, and its mission since 2006 has been to present energetic, exciting, raw, vibrant Shakespeare using the power of the actors and the language. The critically acclaimed, Santa Barbara Independent Award-winning Naked Shakes has performed at UCSB and transported productions to the Shakespeare Center of Los Angeles, as well as once again to Center Stage. Past Naked Shakes productions include: A Midsummer Night's Dream, The Tempest, The Winter's Tale, Twelfth Night, Romeo and Juliet, and Measure for Measure. This season, Naked Shakes is producing one of Shakespeare's most controversial and interesting comedies, The Merchant of Venice.
A talkback follows the Sunday, October 21, matinee. $16.50 general; $11.50 students and seniors.
