One of the seminal artists of our time, Laurie Anderson creates sophisticated genre-crossing work that encompasses performance, film, music, installation, writing, photography and sculpture. In Dirtday!, she looks at politics, theories of evolution, families, history and animals in a riotous and soulful assemblage of songs and stories. Set against a detailed and opulent sonic landscape, the stories and music create a hallucinatory world made of dreams and reality. Dirtday! is the final piece in Anderson’s series of solo story projects, including Happiness and The End of the Moon – and the culmination of her groundbreaking work in this genre.
