Set to the soulful music of Nina Simone, "Snapshots," a lush and lyrical new work by Emily Tatomer, is a meditation on sense-memories, some somber and some light-hearted. "Sand Into Glass," a bold and intense new work choreographed by Devyn Duex and accompanied by video art by Erin Martinez, explores the emotional and physical landscape of a journey from self-destructive behavior to healing then to moving forward. Re:Vision will also feature a reprise of "Take the Bull by the Horns," the dynamic, intellectual work by Emily Tatomer first presented in our debut 2011-2012 season.
Nebula Dance Lab was founded by president and artstic director Devyn Duex in 2010 to provide artists in modern dance the opportunity to experiment, push boundaries, and create new language in dance through physical exploration. Our artists-in-residence have shared their vibrant work at venues such as the NECTAR artist forum, SB-ADaPT Fest, and fundraisers/workshops with local community non-profit organizations, in addition our self-produced events.
