Description:

At this seminar, the findings documented in "The China Study," a 2004 best-selling book by T. Colin Campbell, will be reviewed and discussed. In this intensively researched study, the relationship between the consumption of animal products and a variety of chronic illnesses now reaching epidemic proportions in developed and developing nations is documented. Along with other research conducted over the last 60 years, the book presents the results of an enormous project conducted jointly by the Chinese Academy of Preventive Medicine, Cornell University, and the University of Oxford that began in 1983. The New York Times called the study "the Grand Prix of epidemiology." In addition to these contemporary studies, there will be a presentation of diets for the treatment of disease based on the practice of ancient Chinese medicine. The author of "The China Study" will not be present at the seminar. For more information: http://www.worldculture.org or call 722-0016. Free and open to all, but donations are greatly appreciated.
