Do you own a Chihuahua or Chihuahua mix? Then come show your Chihuahua Power at the !Chihuahua Power! Parade and Rally!

When: Saturday, April 27, 2013, 3 p.m.

Where: Paseo Nuevo, 8 W. De la Guerra Pl., Santa Barbara

Cost: Free

Age limit: All ages

Categories: Special Events

The !Chihuahua Power! Parade and Rally will be led by Santa Barbara Mayor Helene Schneider. We'll have the chance to show our pride in these amazing big-dogs-in-little-bodies, with a short parade down State Street, returning for a rally at Paseo Nuevo's main plaza. Chihuahua/mix owners are encouraged to bring their own signs: let's shout out !Chihuahua Power!

The parade and rally are the kickoff event for the Responsible Pet Ownership Alliance's second annual Chihuahuas de Mayo celebration, encouraging Chihuahua and Chihuahua mix owners to spay or neuter their dogs by offering free surgeries to the first 300 owners who call. It also promotes The Whole Enchihuahua-- with half off adoption fees of all Chihuahuas and Chihuahua mixes adopted from participating shelters in Santa Barbara County during May. What a great deal -- half off for a whole wonderful dog!

Participating dogs must be on leash and have a current license. For more info, email Lee at
