School Gardening and Composting Workshop with Explore Ecology

This workshop focuses on how to start or enhance a school garden, non-toxic organic gardening methods, how to design a school garden as an outdoor classroom, gardens and common core curriculum, a Santa Barbara planting calendar, composting, worm composting, nutrition education and easy recipes from the garden. The workshop also includes a tour of an established school garden and of a garden that is in the process of being built. Participants in this workshop will receive a Garden Detectives curriculum, organic plant starts, and handouts. This workshop takes place at the Goleta Family School on the Foothill School Campus, Room 9. Worm composting kits will also be for sale at this event. Pre-registration is required.
