Cindy Shipp, certified Master Food Preserver and SB Canning author will teach a class on canning a fresh vegetable soup.
When: Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Where: Fairview Gardens, 598 N Fairview Ave., Goleta
Cost: $35 - $65
Age limit: 18+
You will be making a vegetable soup with fresh veggies from the farm. This will be an introduction to canning for some and for others who have taken classes in canning this will be the next step in learning this important craft. You will have a hands experience in preparing your own produce and putting together a soup of your choice to process using the pressure canning method. You will take home it home at the end of the class and also be given information to encourage you to continue work on your own canning pantry at home. Cindy is very excited about teaching this class and hopes to give back to many here in Santa Barbara the gift of Preserving for the Future!
