Description:

Gray Whales Count is a survey from land of the northbound migration of Gray whales through the nearshore of the Santa Barbara Channel from February 11 through May 19, 2013.

Counters — volunteer observers — work scheduled, two-hour shifts and we ask that volunteers take a shift a week through the survey, if possible. We are understanding.

No experience necessary. We are looking for passionate, concerned, dedicated observers who care about marine mammals and our shared environment.

Training is on-the-job and will begin the first shift.

For further information, please visit the website: www.graywhalescount.org

Attending the event is not a requirement of participating but it is a great opportunity to meet people involved and ask questions directly.
