In the spring of 2005, National Geographic photographer James Balog headed to the Arctic on a tricky assignment: to capture images to help tell the story of the Earth’s changing climate. Chasing Ice (2012), directed by Jeff Orlowski, is the story of one man’s mission to change the tide of history by gathering undeniable evidence of our changing planet.
Special guest Jeff Dozier is a professor of snow hydrology, earth system science, and remote sensing at UC Santa Barbara’s Bren School of Environmental Science & Management. He was selected as the 2010 Nye Lecturer for the Cryosphere group of the American Geophysical Union.
