The Progressive Democrats of Santa Barbara is very pleased to sponsor the nationally known, award-winning folk singer, Tom Neilson, in a concert in support of Move to Amend. Tom will be introduced by Lois Hamilton, leader of the SB Chapter of the Progressive Democrats of America.
Tom Neilson has been writing and performing “Music for Social Change” for more than 20 years. His music reminds us of what is important in our world with his creative, compelling, and humorous original songs, in the tradition of Tom Paxton and Phil Ochs. Tom’s website is at http://www.tomneilsonmusic.com, where you can hear samples of his music.
Move to Amend is the national movement to amend the constitution to firmly establish that money does not equal speech and that only human beings - not corporations - are persons entitled to constitutional rights. Those attending the concert will have the opportunity to sign the Move to Amend petition, which PDSB is presenting to the Santa Barbara City Council to ask them to pass a resolution of support. (See http://www.movetoamend.org and http://www.pdsb.us for more information)
