The Redemptive Power of Storytelling
Stories from military men and women
In conjunction with the Santa Barbara Library Big Read we present a performance including selections from The Things They Carried by Tim O’Brien, along with other writings by men and women of the military. This will not be an examination of the subject of war, but instead an exploration and celebration of the people who serve and the stories they bring back with them. Stories of bravery, camaraderie, life-altering trials and the incredible resiliency of the human spirit.
“Abstraction can make your head believe, but a good story, well told, will make your kidneys believe, and your scalp and your tear ducts, your heart, and your stomach, the human being." —Tim O’Brien
All seating is general admission. All ticket sales are final at the time of purchase. There are no refunds or exchanges. For all performances late seated is on a limited basis, or is not allowed at all once the performance begins. Please plan your arrival time accordingly.
