Dr. Brian M. Fagan, Professor Emeritus of Anthropology UCSB, will present a slide lecture on "The Rape of the Nile: How Egyptology Began," his book written in 1975.

He will tell the compelling story of the early days of Egyptology. This is a tale of heroes and villains, of high adventure, stealthy plundering and downright skullduggery as far back as Nopoleon Bonaparte up to the discovery of the tomb of Tutankhamun. Dr. Fagan is a renowned lecturer and prolific author, writing about many subjects.
