Description: Using blankets, bolsters and other props, restorative yoga supports the body and limbs so you can relax into asanas, or yoga poses, comfortably. The poses will stretch, relax or energize parts of the body to move toward balance and rejuvenation. Holding each pose for long periods of five to ten minutes brings deeper opening and a fuller experience of the pose.
Pranayama combines "Prana" meaning breath or life force energy and "yama" control or discipline and "ayam" which means expansion, for a meaning of "extension of life force energy through control of the breath". Specific breathing techniques bring increased concentration, body awareness and energy.
