Synopsis:
This film has everything you could want in a French comedy: mistaken identities, close calls, unrequited love, gorgeous settings and people - and a happy ending. Jean is an overworked employee at a deluxe resort in Biarritz. Irène (Audrey Tautou) is a gold digger staying at the hotel with her elderly boyfriend. When the two first meet, confused assumptions and romantic attraction abound. Irène tries to forget Jean and maintain her luxurious but tenuous lifestyle, while Jean will try anything to win her heart. The filmmakers appreciation of beauty is evident throughout, as we feast our eyes on Audrey Tautou (in a role very different from the gamin of AMELIE), her wardrobe, and the scenery of the French Riviera. PRICELESS has all the charm and fun of last years AVENUE MONTAIGNE.
