Synopsis:
SOUS LES TOITS DE PARIS follows the bleak existence of Monsieur Marcel, an elderly man residing alone in a small Parisian loft. His daily endeavors consist of visiting the local swimming pool and dining at his favorite restaurant. Life is lively around him - young lovers are engulfed in their sensuality while drug addicts overdose and are mourned. One day, a day not unlike many before it, Marcel is swimming in the pool. A young girl, Julie, notices him and befriends him. He confides in her the memories of his past as she relieves the monotony of his present by bringing over a secondhand television set. Despite his struggles, Marcel remains undefeated and dignified. The resounding power of this film makes it truly unforgettable.
