Yobi the Five-Tailed Fox (Cheonnyeonnyeou Yeoubi)
Rating: NR
Synopsis:
Yobi is a shape-shifting fox, a creature of Korean legend that can steal the soul of any human. Although she is 100 years old in earth years, compared to her total lifespan she is but a child. A group of aliens crash-landed in the woods, and, in the century Yobi spends with them while they are trying to rebuild their ship, they become close. When a group of children on a summer retreat capture one of the aliens, Yobi takes the form of a girl and infiltrates the group. Soon she faces the possibility that she may unintentionally steal the soul of a human she has grown to love. The tone and look may be similar to the films of Hayao Miyazaki, but this film is distinctly Korean. A combination of sci-fi, magical events, laughs, and thrills - YOBI is a real crowd pleaser.
