Watch Movie Trailer

Three degrees of latitude separate the islands of Hawaii. Nine legendary and infamous open ocean channels link them together. In April of 2010, Morgan Hoesterey came up with an idea—to stand up paddle across the Hawaiian Island chain as a way to raise awareness about plastics and their effects on the ocean. A seasoned stand up paddler (the first woman to stand up paddle across the Molokai Channel), she understood the challenge of this expedition. She recruited fellow distance racer, Jenny Kalmbach, to join her. They, along with a small crew, pushed themselves mentally and physically across some of the most dangerous waters in the world, culminating in the daring 82-mile, nighttime crossing from Oahu to Kauai. DESTINATION 3° is the story of two women striking out across three degrees of oceanic latitude into some of the most dangerous open ocean waters in the world. - Russ Spencer
