SCIENCE AND ART:

The Professional Artists Lab and the California NanoSystems Institute at UCSB have catalyzed a competition that combines art, science, and technology. Scientists, technologists, and artists generate exploration in the STAGE script competition, which is now accepting scripts that play on scientific and technological themes, stories, issues, and events. This competition, which is in its second year, advocates the understanding of science through art, and encourages creative genius on an international level. The winner of the competition will be awarded $10,000, a reading of their script by professional actors, and entrance into the Professional Artists Lab, which offers expertise from professionals in the theater and film industry, and specialists in science, engineering, and technology. Submission deadline for all entries is January 15, so visit cnsi.ucsb.edu/stage.
