DJ SCHOOL RETURNS

The Santa Barbara DJ Academy returns to Velvet Jones in October when the 12-class, six-week course starts on October 9. Instructors include such State Street spinning luminaries as DJ Gavin Roy, DJ Hectick, DJ Patrick, DJ Zeke, and DJ Craig and topics include vinyl, CD, and Serato mixing techniques as well as music theory, programming, and acquisition. There’s a textbook, resource guides, and even a graduation weekend at Velvet Jones and Q’s Sushi-a-Go-Go. So for those aspiring mixmasters wanting to make bigger bucks, head to the Velvet Jones on October 4 at 5 p.m. for the open house. See sbdja.com or call 682-5032.
