Area Activists Encourage Disarmament

Plaza Del Mar Park will be hosting a public presentation-led by Peter G. Cohen, author of, artist and activist-designed to educate the audience on how the Bush Administration is a major aggressor in an international nuclear arms race and how citizens can play more of a role in reversing this policy. Of the features speakers at this event, peace activist and UCSB student Ellen McClure will explain her involvement in the recent fast by students opposing involvement in management of Livermore and Los Alamos National Laboratories. Following the talks, there will be an antidotal Love of Life Celebration that features the band Le Grand, Franks & Dodge.

This event, sponsored by Veterans for Peace, will be held Sunday, August 5, from 4-6 p.m.
